Astronomy Group

The Astronomy Group of the Institute for Advanced Research (IAI) at Universidad de Tarapacá (UTA) conducts frontier research in observational and theoretical astrophysics.

Founded in 2019, our group takes advantage of the privileged geographic location and clear skies of northern Chile to contribute to the understanding of the cosmos.

Our research lines span from stellar formation and evolution to the structure of our galaxy and the most energetic phenomena in the universe.
